This course looks at how having some routines can be good for our mental health. It also looks at the strengths and limitations of having a routine.
This course is for anyone but may be particularly useful if you are going through a difficult time at the moment which has disrupted your usual habits and routines. It can help you to move forward. It’s based on ideas from professionals and people who have experienced mental health difficulties
Mental health recovery can be seen as a journey. Everyone will recover in different ways. Some people are able to recover in a way that enables them to continue with their life pretty much as it was before. Others may need to change the way they live so that they can remain healthy and well. Recovery is about finding some of the things that you enjoy again and having more control over your life.
As part of your recovery, it can be useful to make new habits and routines. To learn more about this, we’ll look at ideas such as habit stacking, the CHIME factors and the Cycle of Change. Finally, we’ll have a look at morning and evening routines as well as how to develop your own routine.
The course takes about half an hour to complete, but this will depend on how fast you read and how long you spend on any activities.
You do not need to complete the whole course in one go. If you leave and come back to it, it’ll remember where you got up to.
