Spirituality is experienced differently by each individual.
Welcome to the course, Spirituality and Recovery. In this course, you will explore the links between spirituality and mental wellbeing. You will see how spirituality is a personal and different experience for each person. By thinking about these links, we hope you will have more understanding of how spirituality can support your mental health recovery and wellbeing.
Spirituality covers beliefs, practices, and experiences that connect you to something greater than yourself. It covers religious traditions, personal beliefs , and connection to the world, nature, or the transcendent (beyond). While spirituality is often linked to religion but it can exist outside of this.

- What is meant by spirituality.
- The differences between spirituality and religion.
- What role spirituality can have in wellbeing and recovery.
- More about what spirituality means to you.
- About unusual experiences in relation to spirituality.
- Some information about different spiritual practices.
