Watch the TED talk below where Dr Kristen Neff talks about her own experiences of self-compassion and it’s benefits. She compares the impact of the self-esteem movement to self-compassion, describing self-compassion as having the benefits of self-esteem without the pitfalls. She also looks at the 3 core components of self-compassion mentioned earlier in this course.

As mentioned in the video above the best thing we can do to start to be more self-compassionate is to treat ourselves as we would our friends.
