What is contemplative prayer?
Contemplative prayer is a practice that is similar to meditation. It uses ‘centering prayer,’ where you select a word or phrase and repeat it silently throughout the practice.
The main aim of contemplative prayer is to quiet the mind and let go of distractions, allowing for a deeper experience of spiritual presence. By focusing on the chosen word or phrase, you try to create a space of stillness and openness. This is where you can connect with your own sense of spirituality and experience a closer connection with the divine.
