This course is an introduction to Making Every Contact Count (MECC). It is an approach to behaviour change. It uses the millions of day to day contacts that organisations and people have with other people. This is to encourage changes in behaviour that have a positive effect on the health and wellbeing of individuals. And of communities and populations.

Gateshead Public Health along with Northumbria Healthcare Trust developed and delivered a MECC Train the Trainer programme. The training programme was devised to assist in creating a positive culture. This was to be across the North East and North Cumbria ICS region. This is to allow for Making Every Contact Count ideas to be put in place across all areas.

This course is aimed at anyone who has contact with the general public. It will take about 30 to 45 minutes to do. This timing will depend on how fast you read and how long you spend on any activities. You do not need to complete the whole course in one go. If you leave and come back the course will remember where you got up to.
