When a big, bad thing happens like a disaster it can make you feel funny inside. Have you ever felt like this?
Have you ever felt like this?
- Your head might feel funny, like it’s hard to think, or you might feel dreamy like the bad things are happening to someone else and not you.
- It can make your heartbeat fast.
- Your stomach might hurt or feel fluttery.
- Your hands can feel sweaty.
- Your legs may feel weak or shaky.

You might find it hard to sleep or have bad dreams. Sometimes stuff can just pop into your head even when you don’t want it to.

These feelings can hang around even though the disaster has ended. This is how your clever brain makes you understand that what happened was very bad.

Try not to worry about this because most of the time these feelings do get less.
