This course explores what the Mental Health Act (1983). It looks at how it is used in relation to a person’s journey. This is from assessment and treatment through to discharge and aftercare. It also follows the story of Iris. She is a young woman who has experienced a mental health crisis that led hospital admission under the Act.
This course will take about one and a half to two and a half hours to complete. This timing will depend on how fast you read and how long you spend on the activities and reflective questions. You do not need to complete the whole course in one go. If you leave and come back to the course it will remember where you got up to.
