This course is the second course in the Cancer and Mental Health Series and provides information about diagnosis, treatments, side effects and consequences, an introduction to palliative and end of life care and how to cope with everyday life during diagnosis and treatment.

This series has three courses. However, you only need to complete the courses you are interested in. Of course, you can complete all the courses if you wish to. They are:

  • Part 1 – Preventing cancer and spotting it early.
  • Part 2 – Diagnosis and receiving cancer treatment.
  • Part 3 – Living with and beyond cancer.

Cancer Research UK, Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind, Macmillan and Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust collaborated and developed this course.

The initial consultation included discussions with a number of partner organisations. People with lived experience have also helped to develop this course content.

This course has 4 sections. The course will take approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete, but this timing will depend on how fast you read and how long you spend on any questions. You do not need to complete the whole course in one go. If you leave and come back to the course, it will remember where you got up to.

Please note:
