What does this mean?
Talking about how you are feeling, like if you are happy, sad, excited or worried, is a big part of something we call our wellbeing.
Having good wellbeing means that you feel happy, healthy and safe in your life.
Lots of different things in your life can make you feel happy, like having friends and a loving family and fun hobbies that you like to do after school.
But some things can make you feel sad, like falling out with your friends, not understanding your homework or having to do boring jobs like tidying your room.
If you are feeling sad, that is normal and something that everybody feels sometimes.
There are things you can do to help you to feel happy.
What can cause poor wellbeing?
Poor wellbeing can be caused by:
- Not eating enough healthy food
- Being bullied
- Struggling with school work
- Falling out with family or friends, such as arguments or feeling left out
- Loneliness
- Not getting enough fresh air and exercise
What can I do to feel better?
If you are feeling sad it’s really important that you try to spend some time doing the things that you enjoy, such as:
Things that can help you feel happy:
