New online course – DBT Skills now live!

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, also known as DBT, is a psychological therapy that has been developed to help people who experience problems with emotional dysregulation (i.e. emotions that are experienced so intensely that they feel overwhelming), which can increase the likelihood of impulsive and risky behaviours.

The overall aim of DBT is to learn how to change thoughts, emotions and behaviours that are a factor in problems in daily living and are maintaining misery and distress.

This course offers a summary of the key skills taught in DBT including:

  • Mindfulness
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness

These skills are presented via videos created by members of staff who work in DBT and written summaries of the skills covered in the videos.
