What is a routine?
'A usual or fixed way of doing things.'
The Cambridge Dictionary definition of a routine.
As we have now learnt, a routine is a collection of habits that people have built up over time. People often refer to either having a routine or the absence of having a routine. The following examples explore this.
- ‘I got into the routine of showering every morning and then having a bowl of porridge and a glass of orange juice.’
- ‘The classroom had no routine and everyone went around doing their own thing.’
- ‘It was great to get out of my usual routine and do something different.’
