Habit stacking

The Science of Habits

Video

Habit stacking is a way of making use of your current routines to make new ones more likely to stick. So, for example when I get home from work and see my partner I’ll say one thing I’m grateful for about today. Here a new routine, being grateful, is added to an old one, coming in and seeing my partner. Other habits can then be added, so after I’ve said something I’m grateful about, I could ask my partner to share something about their day.

Habit stacking is looked at in more detail in this next video.

Some things to think about

What habits and routines do you have? How could you use them to include other things you want to do?
